The accolades continue to pour in for The ’Warp’s soul-stealing femme fatale! This past weekend saw two respected horror sites heap praise on our Mature Readers graphic novel Lorelei: Sects and the City.
On Saturday, at the genre news site Horror Talk reviewer James Ferguson gave his four-star (out of 5) recommendation:
“What elevates this comic to another level is author Steven A. Roman’s dialogue. The writing is smart and that comes out in the characters… All three artists draw a great Lorelei. Yes, she’s busty and wears very revealing clothing, but [y]ou can tell by the way she’s drawn that she’s a strong woman.”

Then on Sunday, Nicholas Strange of the horror site Strange Amusements posted his own enthusiastic critique:
“Overall, Lorelei: Sects and the City is a satisfying romp and one that feels like it would have made an excellent seventies horror film (especially one made by Hammer with gorgeous women and some overt lesbianism). There’s always lots of action and some pretty good laughs to be had as well.”

Lorelei: Sects and the City reintroduces The ’Warp’s first horror heroine, who made her comic book debut in 1993. Featuring a cover painting by comics legend Esteban Maroto, a script by Saga of Pandora Zwieback author Steven A. Roman (that’s me!), and art by Eliseu Gouveia, Steve Geiger, and Neil Vokes, this adult-themed dark fantasy is perfect for old-school horror fans and admirers of fantastic “good girl” art.
